"I can't take it anymore!" exclaimed Clarabella the giraffe. "What can't you take anymore?" replied Teodorico the lion cub.
"Living in this cage, attacked every day by a myriad of rude and noisy children!"
"But, Clarabella, you know very well that it's not possible to leave here, this is our life now, and we should resign ourselves."
"I don't think so at all, and you should be the first not to give in to the idea of staying in this hateful place, you who were separated from your parents so soon. Don't you miss the adventures in the Savannah with your brothers?"
"So what do you intend to do, let's hear it, dear friend, do you want to leave?" Teodorico asked her, looking amused but also a little curious.
"Of course!" exclaimed Clarabella.
"And how does your ladyship plan to escape?" continued the lion cub, chuckling.
"I still have to think about that," said the Giraffe. Meanwhile, the two friends hadn't noticed that right behind them was Arduina the monkey, who had been there the whole time, listening curiously.
"I have an idea," said the monkey.
"Let's hear this idea," said Clarabella.
"Well, I know someone," continued the monkey, "who could help us a lot in this endeavor, and without even asking for a penny. I have a dear friend, Carola the monkey, who lives in the woods with her little master Ireneo. Ireneo is very good at building hot air balloons."
"Go on," said Clarabella, who in the meantime was adjusting her beautiful scarf and sunglasses like a diva.
"So," the monkey continued, giggling, "Ireneo would be very happy to build a hot air balloon on which we could easily escape."
"Ah! Silly monkey! And you think Ireneo would build a hot air balloon just for us, without even asking for a penny?" exclaimed Clarabella.
"Of course! Ireneo is a very good man and you don't know him at all!" replied the monkey, who in the meantime had started munching on some tasty peanuts.
"Ok ok," said Clarabella in a friendlier tone, "so... do we have a plan?"
Of course, the story doesn't end here: now it's up to you to decide the ending, you and your children or anyone else with a bit of imagination!
